“PERFORMING LINES”: TALK WITH EXPERTS AND ARTISTS

Picture(Click image to enlarge)What do drawing, walking, talking, mapping, writing, weaving, printing, crawling, dancing, observing, singing, thinking, painting, tracing and storytelling have in common? They all proceed along lines of one kind or another. Human beings generate lines wherever they go. Some of these lines are dominant, straight and clearly visible, others might be conceived as being lines of resistance, ghostly and meandering. Time is of course a line, but not necessarily linear in form. Space and place are criss-crossed and inhabited by lines of various kinds. Inspired by the book “Lines – A brief history” by Tim Ingold, „Performing Lines“ focuses on the practice of line creation. Experiencing the relation between movement, knowledge and creation, invited artists will explore the production and significance of lines through performances, performative installations and other media.

ABOUT AGORA

AGORA is a platform that empowers individuals through multi-disciplinary collaborative creation, a gathering space of professionals, driven by the urge to explore new ways of interaction and collaboration in today’s context. We are dedicated on creating intelligent forms of producing, working and living – artistically, socially and economically. As an airport of ideas; making bridges, connecting talented and engaged people. Agora is also an incubator; developing and supporting artistic, social, environmental and economical projects. Much of our space healthily remains in constant flux. Every few days the tables and walls shift to incorporate a new art exhibition, workshop, lecture, performance, yoga class, organic food fair, film screenings and all sorts of cultural projects. Since our founding in June 2011 we have quickly gathered a community made up of members from over 30 nationalities. Like our resilient home base of Berlin we view the world’s differences and its diversity as powering the potential for constructive growth and advancement.

ABOUT LEKLUB

Taking up on one of the oldest, dearest, most important traditions among performance artists we invite on Mondays 7th, 21st and 28th to LeKLUB/Performer Stammtisch –  meeting without a cause, meeting with no purpose, meeting without art! Just to meet, chat & have a beer! Eh, hang on a second . . . without art ? NO art at all? Well, not quite. Though it’ll be just a little – but what there’ll be is sure to knock you out! But above all come & socialise, meet fellow artists, chat about what your doing, where you’re going. Everybody is welcome.
