BIOGRAPHICAL CHRONICLE OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION

Picture(Click image to enlarge)There is a building which you see when you enter the factory grounds, at the back, It was built in 1950, The architect was Klaus Kirsten  but who built it?  Biographical Chronicle of Industrial Production is interested in the surfaces we see around us, and asks the questions: where did they come from, who was involved, what are the stories built into the environment we see every day?  It starts from the place where the workers leave off.  Maybe it was Barthes who said “the last task of the worker is to erase the traces of its labour”. The group of performers taking part in the Biographical Chronicle of Industrial Production, will draw their persona from the historical records of all the people who built the building at the back of the factory grounds, who dug and transported the morter, who cut the steel, who dug the foundation, and who organized and supervised and directed.  Biographical Chronicle of Industrial Production manifests the historical materialization as a dymanic interchange between individuals, each performance is a re-enactment and a manifestation of this original performance which resulted in the building. So the building is like a score, a composition we infer to create our version.

ABOUT EXROTAPRINT

ExRotaprint links the potential of its spectacular architecture with the local needs of a socially  marginalised area, diverting aesthetic quality into socio-political activities. ExRotaprint occupies the site of a former printer factory in Wedding.

PERFORMING LINES: LIVE PERFORMANCES AND TALKS ABOUT “LINES”+INTEGRATED EXHIBITION AND WORKSHOP

Picture(Click image to enlarge)What do drawing, walking, talking, mapping, writing, weaving, printing, crawling, dancing, observing, singing, thinking, painting, tracing and storytelling have in common? They all proceed along lines of one kind or another. Human beings generate lines wherever they go. Some of these lines are dominant, straight and clearly visible, others might be conceived as being lines of resistance, ghostly and meandering. Time is of course a line, but not necessarily linear in form. Space and place are criss-crossed and inhabited by lines of various kinds. Inspired by the book “Lines – A brief history” by Tim Ingold, „Performing Lines“ focuses on the practice of line creation. Experiencing the relation between movement, knowledge and creation, invited artists will explore the production and significance of lines through performances, performative installations and other media.

DIVIDING UP THE BODY POLITIC + LOVE MASS

PictureLinnea Hansander “Love Mass”DIVIDING UP THE BODY POLITIC (17:00)
Concept and Score – composition/choreography Ellinor Ljungkvist (www.ellinorljungkvist.com)
Performers Lea Wettiger and Roni Katz

A performative method for generating material in this cut is developed. The idea is based on transforming text into embodiment of current situations. It could be any text, but as needed, a text that includes effective actions was chosen. “Aristophanes was the first one to use comedy systematically to examine and contest core cultural values – artistically, social, religious, political and philosophical – of society of which he belonged” These topics are, as it was important at that time, still our main division on society when it comes to conceptual performance and art. Hence my interest in generating performative material on similar actions within these fields was initiated. The score is far away from traditional dance and theater, and instead, it is working on contemporary methods and ideas on how to create performance today. The performance is a collaboration between two persons that has been composed by a outside observer. Composition in this sense means sat ideas and pattern of actions. The characters are presenting strong images and qualities from text in their own personal way, from where the performance has been shaped. The performance touches matters as dividing up the body politic, a deliciously feeling of drowsy one self and the most sensible speech etc.

*Do you believe in LOVE?*
Testify to the existence of love in the LOVE MASS! The Reverend of Love is coming to Berlin, eager to know more about Berlin love. Love Mass is a travelling community ceremony built on audience participation and youtube. The aim is to collect testimonials of love from all over the world. Local inhabitants testify to the existence of love by showing a youtube video of their own choice, and telling a story (in any way they please) to the video. Love Mass has previously been held in San Francisco, London, New York and Stockholm.
