performance piece and charity event on the occasion of WORLD AIDS DAY.
For this project we are planning to re-enact Cruising. To do so, we are recruiting about 100 performers who will use the provided space to look for someone they wish to be paired with. We then ask the participants to hug their partner and to hold this position for an hour.
Prior to the performance participants are required to take off their clothes and put on red underpants which will be provided by us.
In this performance piece we aim to shed light on the interpersonal dynamic: Do we feel close to one another? Is there a sense of intimacy? Would you approach people differently in your private life?
Lastly, we would like to give the floor to spokespeople from Berlin-AIDS-Hilfe who are going to talk about their current and upcoming projects.
Throughout the entire evening we will be collecting donations for E.V.A., a St. Petersburg-based campaign to support HIV-positive women.
